A Surprise Tango – Beginner String Orchestra
(based on Haydn’s Surprise Symphony, with optional flexibility)
This arrangement of a tango is inspired by the famous theme from Joseph Haydn’s Surprise Symphony and has been specially written for beginner string orchestras. The piece keeps all players actively engaged while remaining accessible to early learners, making it ideal for school concerts, teaching studios, and classroom ensembles.
The Violin 3/Viola part is written entirely on open strings, allowing less experienced players to participate confidently while building ensemble skills. The main melody and accompaniment are shared across the parts, giving each player a moment to shine.
