A Night on the Bald Mountain is one of the first Symphonic Poems by Russian composers and the only major orchestral work by Modest Mussorgsky. It describes a witches' night on "Lysaja gora", a specific mountain for this ceremony. The arrangement is kept in the original key for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed in 2008 by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Austria.
