This is an excellent book for the developing student. I have been using this book for many years, both to learn the more challenging pieces and also to return to the easier but engaging and thoughfully chosen intermediate pieces. Lots of variety here, primarily Renaissance, Baroque, and Romantic. Duncan's editorial markings and fingerings are helpful for developing musicality and proper technique, although some interpretation notes would have been nice as in Frederic Noad's very fine (but more expensive) repertoire books. Highly recommended, especially for the price. There aren't many other collections at this price range that contain all high quality pieces.
