Christmas comes but once a year, but when it does for many it inspires memories and thoughts of loved one’s past and present and your own memories too of this time of year when you were young spending Christmas with your family and friends. It is hopelessly nostalgic and at Christmas I revel in it’s nostalgia for me. So I’ve composed a work for brass firstly dedicated to a great man of the brass band from Liverpool Bob Dean (Sailors Chapel, ex Fodens, Camel Lairds and great pal of Jim Scott) and I studied under his baton at BR Edge Hill and with his help I moved on to the famous Manchester CWS Band. Us bander’s love a good tune and a tune that moves us too, I’ve been told by many who have played this that it ticks those boxes. So, however you celebrate this Christmas, I hope this will inspire memories?
