One of my older pieces I still get requests for. Funky "pop-rock" tune featuring tenor 2 and trombone on the head. Middle section is a half time funk feel where the trombone soloist can go absolutely crazy. Get as greasy and funky as you want. A chorale (that's the "hymn" part of it) leads to a hot shout section and a big build to the end. Ends with an unusual "plagal" cadence. Solos for tenor 2, trombone and drums. No doubles. Lead trumpet to high E (optional high G).
