A Festival Anthem développe deux motifs : l’un écrit sous la forme d’une fanfare (introduction), l’autre reprenant le célèbre carillon londonien de Big Ben. De ce second motif dérive le thème principal, associé avec une structure en contrepoint. La deuxième partie de l’œuvre est constituée d’inversions et de renversements des motifs et thèmes initiaux. Le motif Big Ben est un motif en ostinato. La reprise du thème premier mène l’œuvre vers une conclusion majestueuse.
