I recommend this songbook
This is a report with my using the “A Cappella Standards” arranged by Roger Emerson. These arrangements are all SATB. I sing with a male quartet, so I have re-arranged them for TTBB. With the exception of the first piece, “Here’s That Rainy Day”, all the others worked out quite well. “Rainy Day” has a lot of close harmony chords and they didn’t work well with being re-arranged, even though I tried doing it in two different ways. The first way was terrible. The second was better but not great. “In My Life”, has that interesting middle section, “ala Swingle Singers” which will be a challenge – but hopefully fun.
I recommend this songbook for singers with medium talent. It’s too difficult for beginners and rather easy for more advanced singers.
