This is a fun piece I wrote to accompany a video I uploaded on YouTube containing photos of the paintings in Manchester Art Gallery. My intention was to capture some of the Gypsy Jazz or Jazz Manouche style, as it is sometimes called, inspired by the music of Stephane Grapelli and Django Reinhardt. It nevertheless has a stride/ragtime left hand style and some complex bebeop style patterns and sequences in the right hand. It's quite challenging to play but should sound awesome when mastered. It goes through a number of modulations.
I don't include dynamics, pedal marks or fingering preferring to leave these to the discretion of the individual pianist. I do include chord symbols which I always find most useful in learning and remembering music.
The tenth intervals in the arrangement can be too much for smaller hands and can either be 'rolled' or replaced with octaves or single bass notes.
I hope you enjoy learning it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
