The etudes of Friedrich August Kummer are best suited for lessons, especially for the accompaniment of a 2nd cello. Originally the etudes are from the appendix of Kummers Celloschule for the first lesson op. 60. For the first time, this new editioncompletes them in two volumes as 92 progressive etudes. It follows the first edition published in 1839 (publisher Friedrich Hofmeister, Leipzig) and essentially adopts the original fingerings and line names. For easier readability, the number of finger sets has been slightly reduced.
