In this second 5x5 Rock play-along book, the focus is on the technique of playing two bass drums double bass . This very special drum style has fascinated many drummers since its inception. Jazz musicians such as Louis Bellson or Buddy Rich became masters of the craft of playing two bass drums. Their skills inspired a whole generation of Rock drummers in the late 60s such as Ginger Baker Cream to copy their great Jazz heroes and rock music was greatly enriched by this innovative playing technique. Over the years, more and more drummers were attracted to his technique and their unique hammering beats created the foundation for new styles of Rock music. Examples are Mikkey Dee of Motorhead, Lars Ulrich Metallica , Joey Jordison from the band Slipknot or Simon Phillips TOTO .The songs on the CD are composed in the style of these bands so that now you have the unique opportunity of becoming a member of your favorite band. Five different tempos allow each student to learn the new technique and put it into action. Its not absolutely necessary that you work your way up to the fastest tempo.
