"The ArchAndroid" is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Janelle Monáe, released in 2010. The album is composed of the second and third parts to Monáe's 'Metropolis' concept album series. Incorporating conceptual elements of Afrofuturism and science fiction, "The ArchAndroid" continues the series' fictional tale of a messianic android and features lyrical themes of love, identity, and self-realization. The first release from the album was the song 'Tightrope', which drew widespread critical success; the song "57821" has been described as "space-folk" and has been compared to works by Simon & Garfunkel. Inspiring lots of covers around the world including the Irish choral group, Systir, this charming, lilting chart will provide a nice contrast in a programme of music by black composers, or any situation that needs a bit of calm for both the band and audience. Arranged as part of a project to bring more music by women into the worldwide concert band repertoire. #ArrangeMeGoals2023.
