A group of four classical sonatinas written in the style of Clementi or early Mozart. Each has three movements, fast-slow-fast, and is perfectly suited for the intermediate player. Besides being fun to play and delightful to listen to, with its playful melodic lines and lightness of tone, this contemporary composition written in classical style is also wonderful material for the intermediate piano student who is looking for additional and new repertoire to practice. The four sonatinas all transmit the uplifting tone and light-hearted musical character so often found in the music of the Classical masters like Mozart, Haydn and their contemporaries. Although they present some challenges, they are great pieces to perform at recitals, remaining true to the classical tradition in style and tonal structure.
