Solid Accompaniment for Young Vocalists
For gigs accompanying younger singers, this collection is quite useful. The traditional folk and art songs are recognizable staples, and the arrangements are reliable for supporting the voice. While it doesn't offer explicit chord symbols for improvisation, the fully notated intermediate piano parts are clear and well-crafted. The online accompaniments are a nice bonus for students prepping.

Joan Frey Boytim's expertise shines through with songs featuring limited vocal ranges, perfect for developing healthy technique. The intermediate piano accompaniments are clear, making them easy to teach and read. The included online audio is an invaluable practice tool for reinforcing rhythm and pitch.

Highly recommend for any adult learner!

outdated
The books compiled by Joan Boynton all contain outdated songs, often Victorian church songs. You may find 4 or 5 good songs in any given book, but not worth the price. There are songs by other composers which are much better. The level is appropriate as stated. I'm a voice teacher with 20 years experience, all ages, mostly teens. Even my 60 yr old students don't want to sing this stuff!

Good book for changing voices
I rate all of Joan Boytim's books very highly and this one is no exception. This is an excellent collection of easy songs In English with only an octave range. I use it particularly for boys voices that are starting to change and girls who are learning not to belt.
