A readable Dotzsuer
Being a new, albeit older, cellist I hold no particular stock for Dotzauer's original approach. I do, however, greatly appreciate that this version is much easier to read. Wh yes it that all the Klingenberg versions look like they are photocopies or photocopies? Will my future cello playing really be that negatively impacted by using this version?

Please dont mess with Dotzauer like this!
I was horrified when a student brought this book to me with Enyearts fingerings instead of Dotzauers. The fingerings are a major part of any etude and Dotzauers etudes fingerings accurately portray his teaching philosopy. It takes considerable gall to change the fingerings to a bunch of notes whose entire point is... the fingerings! If one finds themselves itching to change the fingerings on an etude that has been as exquisitely crafted as Dotzauers, perhaps they might try to write their own. Because these etudes are public domain and freely available on the web, it seems as if International Music Company is desperately trying to keep the copyright on their version of this book any way they can. However this insult to Dotzauer is really too much to bear. Way to break the chain of cello teaching Dotzauer set up hundreds of years ago and insert yourself! Dotzauer intended for cellists to play his notes, the fingerings, and the bowings. An ounce of respect would have gone a long way!
