Baldassare Galuppi (1706-1785) received his first music lessons from his father and later became a pupil of the famous Antonio Lotti. His oeuvre first and foremost includes operas and oratorios, but he also wrote chamber music works, cantatas and works for piano. This new edition includes ten harpsichord sonatas published in Nuremberg and London during Galuppi's lifetime.

Disappointing Edition
This was my first purchase from Schott, and a real shot in the dark as so little information is given above. The printing is dark and clear, but the edition has no fingering at all, nor even a table of contents, and no information about the works beyond their provenance. Six turn out to be Opus 1 published in London by Walsh in 1756 (Illy 30, 11, 43, 45, 50, and 19 according to the liner notes in Matteo Napolis CD set). Some slow movements could be played by late intermediates, but otherwise this is definitely a set for advanced pianists. Thats not me, alas
