About Victor C Johnson

Victor C. Johnson is an esteemed American composer, arranger, music educator, and conductor, primarily celebrated for his extensive contributions to choral music. With a distinctive musical voice, he is particularly recognized for crafting intelligent, age-appropriate, and pedagogically sound compositions that are both compelling for singers and audiences. His significance in contemporary music education and worship is marked by a prolific output across various publishers and his influential role in developing young vocal talent.

Victor C. Johnson published his first choral composition in 1994 while still a sophomore in high school.
He earned dual honors at the University of Texas at Arlington, being named "Outstanding Music Freshman" in 1997 and "Outstanding Musician" in 2001, where he majored in music education with an organ concentration.
For 18 years, from 2000 to 2018, Johnson served as a choral director at the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, where he also directed ensembles such as the Academy Singers, Academy Men's Choir, and was Artistic Director of the Singing Girls of Texas and the Children's Choir of Texas.
Currently, he holds the position of School Choral Editor for SING!, the educational publishing division of Choristers Guild, and is the Minister of Worship and Arts at Shiloh Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.
