Editor’s Picks: Christmas Sheet Music Wishlist #2

There’s some music which you keep coming back to as a constant source of everything that’s good in the world, so top of my list are the following.
Every home should have one of each of these:
Beatles Complete Chord Songbook

Led Zeppelin Mothership

The Little Black Songbook of Bob Dylan

Actually, I’m on a bit of a vinyl-inspired Beatles trip at present and so I’d also like:
Beatles Complete Scores

and Alan Aldridges’ classic Beatles Illustrated Lyrics

I’ve recently started singing with a choir and I’d love to own some staples of the classical choral canon
Mozart Requiem

Haydn The Creation

I like to play the piano when I have time and this collection of accessible contemporary music is really interesting:
24 Contemporary Pieces for Piano

Getting to grips with proper technique for acoustic blues is something that’s on my ‘to do’ list, so Woody Mann’s Complete Acoustic Blues Guitar Method looks essential:
Likewise, I need to do some serious bass practice. And this is a serious bass book by jazz virtuoso Tony Grey

That lot will keep me happy over Christmas!
