Drummers! Enter the Roland V-Drums World Championship 2

Roland is searching for the hottest drumming talent in the UK for the V-Drums World Championship, now into its second year.
With local heats taking place around the globe, Roland is looking for the best drummers to compete in the UK finals and the chance to become the nation’s V-Drums Champion.
The UK winner will then go on to the V-Drums World Championship global finals at Frankfurt Musikmesse 2013 – possibly the biggest music industry show in the world and a fantastic platform for musicians seeking a big break.
Many will come from all over the world but only national winner will be crowned the V-Drums World Champion!

Check out the video below of last year’s UK champion, Laurie Caudwell, who used to be an expert member of the team at Musicroom York.
You can watch more videos from last year’s competition on Roland UK’s V-Drums World Championship 2011 playlist, including Craig Blundell’s breathtaking drum demo from the show.
To enter the UK heats, all you have to do is record a short video of you playing your kit, upload it to YouTube and share the link with Roland via the competition entry form before October 15 2012.
The best performers will then be selected to compete in the UK final at The Jam House, Birmingham, on Tuesday October 23.
Read a summery of the entry details below:

  • Record a five minute entry video – any kit is fine (you don’t have to use a V-Drums kit or electronic kit)
  • Upload your video to YouTube
  • Type your details and YouTube link into the entry form on the Roland UK V-Drums World Championship 2 sign-up page
  • Get your friends to ‘like’ your YouTube video. The more votes the better as video popularity will be taken into account and improve your chances of winning
  • Use social media to promote your video for maximum exposure

UK Heat
The seven finalists will perform their entries at Jam House on a TD-30KX V-Drums kit (with an SPD-30 and SPD-SX also available if required) in front of a live audience and a panel of judges including Chris Barnes, editor of Rhythm magazine and superstar V-Drum clinician Craig Blundell. The winner of the UK heat gets an all-expenses paid trip to Frankfurt, Germany, for the world final as well as a Roland SPD-SX percussion sampling pad.
World Finals
The UK heat winner will attend the world championships final to take on other finalists from all over the world at Musikmesse 2013 – the international musical instrument fair, held in Frankfurt, Germany March 10-13 2013. The overall winner will take the title of V-Drums World Champion.
