Chris Martin claims he'd be 'terrible' without bandmates

Chris Martin has discouraged any thoughts of him going solo in the future after claiming that he’d be terrible without his Coldplay bandmates.
Speaking to Q Magazine, the frontman said he “just couldn’t” do it on his own.
“I’d just be terrible. I don’t think I could even get a gig in Butlins – and I’ve been to Butlins,” he said.
“I think me and my keyboard would be outside Woolworths most days, getting shouted at.”
The band, made up of Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion, was formed in 1996 while studying at UCL. While the lead singer has found greater fame through his marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow, he has remained staunchly at the side of his band.
“They’re very good friends to me because they know that, as the singer, and especially because I’m married to Gwyneth Paltrow, I get eight times as much media as them,” he told the magazine.
“They know how much I need them.”
Last month, Coldplay released their fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto, which sold 208,000 copies in its first week, and are planning a series of gigs next year to accommodate the release. They will play seven shows at football stadiums including the Manchester Etihad Stadium, as well as arenas including the O2.
Coldplay did hint recently that their recent album could be their last as the pressure of releasing new material is so stressful.
While drummer Champion said that they all have a British insecurity that they could be doing better, Martin added that the band have to work harder to compete with younger musicians like Justin Bieber and Adele.
“If it’s over, it’s over and I can live with that. The most important thing always is to proceed as if every album is the last and not expect anything more,” he told the Daily Mail.
