Bryan Ferry to tour solo album in 2011

Bryan Ferry is set to take to the road next year to perform the solo material The Best Of Roxy Musicfrom his latest album.
The Roxy Music star recently gave an exclusive interview to industry publication Gigwise, in which the singer said Olympia will tour in 2011 after a series of shows with the band in January and February.
2011 is shaping up to be a busy year for Ferry as the Roxy Music tour, which kicks off in Newcastle on January 25th, takes in a number of dates before closing in London. The band is then scheduled to play a series of gigs in Australia and New Zealand.
Ferry will then take on a run of performances of his solo material, which saw him collaborate with the likes of Groove Armada, Radiohead and the Scissor Sisters.
“My plan is to go out on some shows of the Olympia record with some of the people that played on it, so that’s going to be good – it’s going to be a busy year,” he told the news provider.
The singer said the latest Roxy Music tour has marked somewhat of a comeback for the band and added that the audiences at many of the shows have made the performances special.
“We did about 12 festivals around Europe and it went really well – great audiences. The festival audience is always interesting because you get fans of the other bands coming as well, so you have to be on your twos and it went incredibly well,” he added.
Olympia is the latest in a line of successful solo albums for Ferry, with 2007’s Dylanesque, Frantic from 2002 and 1999’s As Time Goes By enjoying chart success.
