Kasabian and Muse walked away from the NME Shockwave Awards the biggest winners, each receiving two prizes for their music.
Leicestershire-based rockers Kasabian were presented with awards for Best Album and Best Album Artwork, while Muse received plaudits for their website and were named British Band of the Year.
Kasabian’s honour comes just a week after being named as Best British Group at the recent BRIT awards.
Other artists to receive recognition included Paul Weller, the modfather performed at the end of the evening after being presented with the Godlike Genius Award.
Weller commented during his act: “What can I say – it’s taken them 30 years to realise it.”
According to NME, the reader-based awards attracted a total of 3.6 million votes.
The NME Awards are an annual music awards show, which first began in 1953 and were founded by the NME music magazine.
