Beyonce takes on Kings of Leon cover in Glastonbury preview

Showing fans and critics what they can expect when she headlines at Glastonbury on Sunday (June 26th), Beyonce gave a preview performance last Tuesday night, covering Kings of Leon and Queen.
According to the blog iamboigenious.com, the US RnB star tackled the covers at the Palais Nikaia in Nice in a warm-up gig.
She sang Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, which the blog said was her best rendition of the hit, as well as Sex on Fire by the Kings of Leon and The Beautiful Ones by Prince.
Of her own material, the diva treated fans to Telephone, which she released with Lady Gaga.
Speaking ahead of her performance on Sunday, which will take place on the Pyramid stage, Beyonce said: “This really is the biggest festival in the world and I cannot wait to perform there. Everyone who attends is really appreciative of music and is in such a good mood that entire weekend.
“I’m pumped just thinking about that huge audience and soaking up their energy.”
Indeed, around 80,000 festival-goers could be watching the star perform her tracks as she walks on the same stage that has seen performances from Radiohead, Oasis, REM, David Bowie, The Who and Brian Wilson, as well as husband Jay-Z.
However, regular Glastonbury-goers have criticised the decision to add Beyonce to the bill. But organiser Emily Eavis told the Radio Times that Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was behind the decision.
Coldplay is also a headline act at Glastonbury this year and Ms Eavis revealed that Martin is heavily involved with the festival at Worthy Farm each year.
“Chris is a bit wary of people knowing he’s been so involved,” she added. “I don’t know why because it’s actually cool. Chris is as loyal as they come – he’ll do anything for Glastonbury.”
Irish supergroup U2 will also headline at the event this weekend, which opened its gates today.
