Following last week’s BRIT awards, every major winner has seen a (predictable) increase in sales since the ceremony. Adele, however, has benefited more than most.
The singer’s latest album – 21 – has remained in the number one position, but her debut album – 19 – has risen two places to be fourth in the album charts.
In addition to this, Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ is top of the pops, with it being number one in the single charts! This song, which Adele sang acoustically at the BRITs award ceremony has climbed over 40 places in one week to make it to number one.
Adele is the first artist to achieve this since The Beatles, when they held the same record in 1964.
Mumford & Sons have also seen a marked rise, with their album rising from 15th in the charts, to second place.
