The soundtrack for major new motion picture Iron Man 2 will comprise songs by vintage rockers AC/DC.
A total of 15 tracks from the band will be used in the Robert Downey Jr flick, with offerings picked from over ten of the group’s albums.
Among the tracks will be Let There be Rock, War Machine and Thunderstruck, while the band’s Back in Black was included in the first of the franchise’s soundtrack.
Sean Michaels, writing for the Guardian, said: “Three decades into their career, AC/DC continue to spurn conventional compilation albums.”
The Australian band’s tracks will be the only ones on the soundtrack, despite the fact that Iron Man 2 contains an original score.
Earlier this month, the growing medium of computer game soundtracks got official recognition following the increasingly common involvement of big names such as Hans Zimmer.
The Ivor Novello Awards added a category recognising the rapidly-developing genre’s best compositions.
